10.09.12 Esther is on her way to something important. Today she decided to put on the hat, backpack, bug catcher and necklace. I'm not sure what she was going to do, but she was ready for something fun. She is gaining her own personality and is starting into her "terrible" twos.
10.13.12 We had a baby shower today for Christine at Allison Bennett's house. It was fun to decorate and put everything together for this shower. We went with a pink and purple theme with Teddy Bears. I made the diaper cake, salad and chicken salad. We had pink and purple spread throughout the house. It was especially fun since Allison and I both love Pink and have many items that are pink in our collections. The party was really fun and I was pretty excited when I measured my yarn and it matched her yarn that went around her belly. She recieved lots of fun presents and we are excited to see that new little one in the coming up month.
10.14.12 The kids finally convinced me to work on the pumpkins. They don't really like to cut into it or touch the seeds and so I let them go for it with the permanent markers. They made all kind of Halloween decorations and were having a great time with the pumpkins
Our Church is under construction right now. We have been dealing with all kinds of fun things. We have diggers and backhoes tearing apart our parking lot, we have no second bathroom, we have a deluxe portable bathroom, they are taking the cultural hall floors out, and for church we had to park on the parking lot next to our church building. It has been quite the adventure. But the kids love it and it will all be wonderful in the end. It would help my sanity if we didn't have both construction at church and home, but I can't have everything.
10.20.12 Speaking of construction on the home. We had a weekend with no soccer and not much else going on and so we did some painting projects. I worked on the dining room walls and the kids did the first coat on the baseboards. The kids thought it was pretty fun to sit on the wood that we had between the two ladders. Of course it would be fun to play on.
Kirsten's crazy hair. (Taken with my iPod.)
10.23.12 Time for a leaf hunt. The kids found some pictures online of different leaf styles and types. We took some time and looked for leaves. It was the perfect day and I had fun taking some pictures while I played around with the settings on my camera. While at the lake we watched some ducks playing in the water. They were bobbing there heads in and out of the water. The kids laughed and laughed as they watched the ducks bottoms above the water as their heads went in the water.
Just before I went to go get the kids from school a huge torrential rain storm. So I slipped into my new rain boots and grabbed my umbrella and left. It was raining so hard that in front of our house there was so much rain the gutters and storm drain were full of leaves. A lake was forming in front of our house. Once the kids were home I went outside with my rake and moved the leaves out of the way on both my side of the street and across the street. The rain had slowed by then but this is how it looked after I was done. I didn't think to do the before picture because it was raining so hard.
10.24.12 I gave Kirsten a litle hair cut. It looked pretty good but I think I will have her friend's mom help me fix it, so I don't chop too much more.
10.26.12 Yesterday we were in our short sleeved clothes and today we are wearing our coats. Brrrh! Esther and I went to a doctor's appointment since she has been coughing and coughing and hasn't felt all that good. "It's a virus" the doctor said. Ugh! I don't like to hear that. Just wait it out.
10.26.12 Our annual Trunk or Treat went pretty good despite the construction going on in and out of the church building. We didn't have both the parking lot and the cultural hall. We just adapted and the kids didn't have too much trouble adapting. We closed off the cultural hall with that "CAUTION" tape and it kept the kids and adults out. We just had the people sitting on chairs or in the classrooms and passed out treats. It was a fun night, but since Esther wasn't feeling 100%, she and Dave stayed home for the night.
10.27.12 The Fall Banquet for Soccer was this morning. The kids had a great time getting their trophies and eating donuts. Esther just had fun running around and climbing all over anything she could find to climb on or over.

10.29.12 Esther had a birthday today. She is now 2. We had her favorite thing for dinner. Waffles with strawberries on top of it. Then we had cake and ice cream. She was pretty fun about the candles. She was almost afraid of the fire on the candles. We helped her blow them out and then while we were trying to get things together to eat, she decided to help herself with the spatula. Funny girl. She got some fun things for her birthday. She loved each item and didn't want to open the next. She loves buses and was loving the little girl in the bus. She also got a puzzle and a cool teapot that she loved too. Happy birthday sweet girl. We love you.
10.31.12 Happy Halloween. I have tried for the last week and a half to get the kids out to take their pictures. Esther would have none of it. Even for this photo I had to bribe her with a cracker so she would wear the flower. So with cracker in hand off we went to take our picture. We actually had a theme going with a flower, bee and butterfly. Aren't they just adorable? I loved how easy they were to make this year. The kids had a great time trick or treating and gaining more candy then we had started the night with.
