I have been trying for weeks to catch these two birds in a picture. I never have the camera close or when I get near the window they fly away. Usually they are pecking the seeds out of our Sunflowers, but today the pictures I took of them weren't that good and then they moved over to my weeds and wala!! I was able to get a great picture of both of the birds together. We have determined they are American Goldfinch. The bright yellow is the male and the brown one is the female. I think I will plant sunflowers again so I can get them back next year.
Here is Kirsten in the twirly skirt I made her yesterday from a couple of remnants that I bought for under $4. I finished my final quilt for the RS and wanted something fun and cute to make. This came to mind and I found a pattern online and away we went. I had to redo part of it because I had read one of my measurements wrong. I noticed today that it was a bit wide on the waist. I think I will wait until it is washed before I undo that part. You can't see it but the blue is a cotton with sparkles in it. I think it turned out pretty cute, I have plans to make another one similar with different fabrics.
Don't you think she looks all grown up? A week from tomorrow she starts Preschool 5 days a week. I have mixed feelings about it but know it is a good thing.
Here is the final quilt I made for our RS project.
